Towards the end of last year Bloor Homes, the proposed developers for the land owned by North Worcestershire Golf Club, submitted a new planning application to build 950 new homes on the site. The plans included, amongst other things, building a new primary school and a community centre.
The planning application, which included building a new primary school and a community centre, was refused and Bloor Homes are now considering their options for the site. However, we've recently been told that Bloor Homes have lodged an appeal which is likely to be heard in the next few months.
Your views will be important to the process and Councillor Randal Brew is determined that local residents will have every opportunity to put their points of view. You can start the process by letting Randal know of anything you want considered by the inspector chairing the appeal.
Randal has taken the view that it is better to continue to talk to Bloor Homes rather than just making a stream of complaints to them. He believes that the way forward is to recognise that the land will not be used as a golf course again but that an effective use needs to be found for it and that this can only be achieved by continuing a constructive dialogue.
