Speaking to local residents and from the Surveys, so many of you have sent back. We have come up with a plan for Birmingham Northfield. Ensuring our area isn't left behind. Prioritising, homes, crime, and transport. Helping make our area a better place to live. work and raise a family.
Building homes local people can afford.
Too many developments are out of the reach of local residents. Working with the community we will put pressure on developers and the council to build more affordable homes. Giving people the chance to own their own home.
Work with the community and police to tackle antisocial behavior and crime.
I'll work with the local community and the police to ensure we get new officers on the beat from the 20,000 new police officers being recruited.
Improving your train journey from Kings Norton, Longbridge, and Northfield.
Working with residents and commuters we will campaign to get the Camp Hill line to end at Longbridge when it re-opens. Meaning people will have a faster journey and more likey a seat too!
Launch the “Shop Local” Campaign.
Working with local businesses and the community to promote local shops, that means people will back local businesses. Helping regenerate our high streets and supporting jobs in the process.
Work with local employers and the West Midlands Mayor, Andy Street to set up jobs fairs.
Helping more people into work, and upskilling our workforce helping them get high-quality jobs paying a good wage.
Keep parks free and our area clean.
Local residents have been signing our petition to stop parking charges to be introduced at Victoria Common and the Lickey Hills. We will also continue our regular litter picks like our litter pick in Rubery to keep our area clean for everyone to enjoy.
